The moth was a great actor in times of prodigies. I knew about his existence years ago, when in the plane from a trip to Chile I read an interview with that Parisian Chilean, or emparished Chilean (as Jorge Edwards would say), and his declarations inspired me a character for Montano’s Malady, the novel that I was writing back then. It appeared from there the figure of Tongoy, “the ugliest man in the world”. The moth said in that interview that, being still a child, a friend of her mother made him understand that he was very ugly and that he looked like a little vampire. “Am I ugly, mama?”, he asked to his mother, already home the lil moth and very worried. “Only in Chile”, her mother answered.

A moth.

A moth goes into a podiatrist office, a moth goes into a podiatrist office

Aaand the podiatrist office says what's the problem?

And the moth says: What’s the problem? Where do I begin man?

He goes: I go to work for Gregory Ollinovich…

And all day long I work.

Honestly doc

I don’t even know what I'm doing anymore. I don’t even know if Gregory Ollinovich knows, he only knows that he has power over me, and that seems to bring him happiness.

But I dunno, I wake up in a malaise, I walk here and there…

The pediatrist says oh yeah?

And the moth goes YES, and goes: at night I sometimes wake up and I turn to some old lady in my bed that’s on my arm… a lady that I once loved doc. I don’t know where to turn to.

My youngest Alexendria. She fell in the, in the cold of last year, the cold took her down as it did many of us. And my other boy, and this is the hardest pill to swallow doc.

My other boy,

Gregaro Ivinalitavich,

I no longer love him.

As much as it pains me to say, when I look in his eyes all I see is the same cowardice that I…

that I catch when I take a glimpse of my own face in the mirror. If only I wasn’t such a coward then perhaps… perhaps I could bring myself to reach over to that cocked and loaded gun that lays on the bedside behind me and end this hellish facade once and for all.

He says: Doc,

Sometimes I feel like a spider. Even though I’m a moth. Just barely hanging on to my web with everlasting fire underneath me.

I’m not feeling good.

And so the doctor says:

Moth, man, you are troubled… but you should be seeing a psychiatrist. Why on earth did you come here?

And then the moth goes:

Because the light was on.

PL:

Odtopienie Marzanny

Miała uśmiech z flamastra
mama sama wycinała
jej ręce przypinała
brzuch szmatami wypychała

Trochę się jej bałam
miała biała twarz prześcieradła
bo była Pani Zimą
więc była zła
biała zimna suknia prześcieradła

Nie pamietam
ale poszli nad rzekę
podpalili ja i rzucili do rzeki
jej głowa z kija odpadła

Białe prześcieradło nabrało brązowej barwy
ręce z papieru rozpuściły się w wodzie
rozciapirzone
czy one wolały o pomoc?

Taka to Morana
ongiś bogini płodności i urodzaju
cyklu narodzin i śmierci
czymże cię dziś uczynili?

O Morano, biedna Morano
o Morano, biedna Morano
odtopimy cię,
namaścimy cię

O Morano, biedna Morano
o Morano, biedna Morano
odtopimy cię,
namaścimy cię

ENG:

Undrowning Morana*

She had a smile made with a marker
my mum cut her out
and her hands did attach
and her belly filled with rugs

I was a bit afraid of her
she had white sheet face
because she was Lady Winter
so she was bad
white cold sheet dress

I don't remember but
They went by the river
They set her on fire and threw her into the river
Her head roll off the stick

White sheet became brown
Paper hands dissolved in the water
Outspread
Did they scream for help?

Here Morana was
fertility and harvest goddess back in the days
of the cycle of rebirth and death
What did they do to her?

Oh Morana, poor Morana
Oh Morana, poor Morana
we will undrown you
we anoint you

Oh Morana, poor Morana
Oh Morana, poor Morana
we will undrown you
we anoint you

*Morana (goddess) Marzanna (in Polish), Marena (in Russian), Mara (in Ukrainian), Morana (in Czech, Slovene, Croatian, Bosnian and Serbian), Morena (in Slovak and Macedonian) or Mora (in Bulgarian) is a pagan Slavic goddess associated with seasonal rites based on the idea of death and rebirth of nature. She is an ancient goddess associated with winter's death, rebirth and dreams. In ancient Slavic rites, the death of the Goddess Marzanna at the end of winter becomes the rebirth of Spring of the Goddess Kostroma (Russian), Lada or Vesna representing the coming of Spring.
The tradition of burning or drowning an effigy of Marzanna to celebrate the end of winter is a folk custom that survives in the Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, and Slovakia.

Thake creates complex, metabolic systems using sculpture, video and language. Her work explores the borderline psyche and constrained body as hyperbolic expressions, reflective of contemporary conditions of precarity. In her constructed scenarios, symptoms of mental illness and states of isolation are collapsed with the quotidien object; contemplating pathological systems to question the distance between the imaginary and the everyday.

Hi, I'm going to go through some of the drinks I usually have during my
daily routine
as I think they are important for me
because they keep me healthy and also just help me stay motivated and
keep going throughout the day

I usually start my day after waking up
with a glass of lemon water.
For this,
I slice a fresh lemon and just let it sit in boiled water for a bit.
It really helps
to wake up in the morning
and is the perfect start to the day.

After swimming,
I mix this hemp protein powder I bought
at alnatura
with oat milk so I have enough protein after my workout.

In summer, I often drink a smoothie
while having a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast.
It's just good for me to get all the vitamins.
My favourite one
is with banana, pineapple and coconut

it's really like drinking all the sunlight from the fruit.
During the day
I try to drink lots of water to stay hydrated
and it just makes me feel so much better.
I try to drink about 2 litres of water every day,
which I think is good for my body.

I usually take a coffee break
around two o'clock and make myself an iced coffee with oat milk.
I use this coffee that I brought from an old roastery in my city.
They use these Arabica beans
that are fairly harvested and taste just fantastic.
For the iced coffee, I usually use the oat milk from dm,
which I think is a real underdog.
Sometimes I also buy the one from oatly,
but I try not to do that so often.
This coffee break really helps me to take time for myself and take a
break from my day in front of the computer.

In the late evening, about 20 minutes before bed,
I drink a goodnight tea,
which is a blend of hemp and lavender.
It makes me feel good when I fall asleep and helps me to have a deep
sleep,
making sure I get the most out of my sleep routine.

SPILLED MILK

Without too much conviction I walked through the threshold and bleeding flowers appeared. Anemic is their color as mine before breakfast.
Looking for a non-trivial attempt of recognition, that Rorschach would have appreciated, I approched them on the dirty chessboard, blended over them but they kept still.
Spreading eye said: “Who woke up first?”
I stared at them, they stared back at me.
Shaky hand went: “Is it my fault?”
I don’t know - I replied - you have to climb the glass racks and take a look:
soul-like entities
nomads and aggregates
attached tag I don’t understand, covered with stiches, wet in white.
Looking breeze
Breathing light
Gushing source at the third floor, it’s mine!
“Is this what you’re looking for? Those could only be buds! Let everything taste the same: object with no properties.” – the neon number suggested as always.
But…

Without respite, without remedy the spongy thing is already soup.
‘cause if I have time, I don’t wait time.
‘cause never it’s just the same and I’m late again.
