During the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale, OCDI will run a series of ‘location-based proto-research’ workshops, where the topics will enact and collaborate with localized lenses. The workshops will generate a set of documentations (atlases) aimed to trigger additional agendas and networks. The intention of these workshops is to explore the idea of DIASPORA by positioning the remote place-shadowing of cities as the resource that fosters new agendas and perspectives.
The first round of workshops will be led by, Ainsley Johnston, Amy Perkins, Francisco Moura Viega & Rubén Valdez (Basel), Antonio Zedda (Whitehorse), Brandon Bergem & Jeffery Garcia (Toronto), Dale Wiebe (Oslo), Jae Sung Chon (Winnipeg), Jun Shibata (Tokyo), Kent Mundle (Hong Kong), Monica Hutton (Toronto), and William Galloway (Tokyo & Toronto). OCDI will announce new workshops ongoingly throughout the biennale.
